The 35th edition of this annual event starts with the men's 8-kilometer race at noon, followed by the women's 6-kilometer race at 1 p.m. Bates College is serving as the host for this year's championship.

The Hamilton men won the NESCAC title in 1988. Henry Whipple '18 finished in 16th place at last year's meet in Waterville, Maine. Lucas Wright '21 and Bryce Murdick '20 have received NESCAC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week honors this fall. Wright finished second out of 120 runners and helped the Continentals capture the team title in their own 2017 Hamilton Invitational on Oct. 7. Murdick took fifth place out of 170 athletes in the 2017 Hamilton Short Course Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 9.

The women finished third in the conference championship in 1984 and 2000 but haven't collected a NESCAC cross country title. Caitlin Anthony '18, who ended up in 71st place at the 2016 meet, is the top returning finisher for the Continentals. Hanna Jerome '18 has been Hamilton's leading performer in four out of five races this fall and boasts three top 10 finishes, including the individual title in the Hamilton Invitational. Jerome studied off campus last fall and didn't compete during the cross country season.
