Fifth straight team academic award for men's basketball

The Hamilton College men's basketball team has been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) with the 2017-18 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. The men collected the award for the fifth straight year under head coach Adam Stockwell.

The Continentals enjoyed one of their finest seasons in program history this past winter. Hamilton finished with a record of 24-5 and advanced to the sectional semifinals (third round) of the NCAA Division III championship. The Continentals started the season with 15 wins in a row and ended up ranked 11th in the final D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. Hamilton posted a 7-3 record in the NESCAC and tied for first in the conference standings. The Continentals hosted a NESCAC championship quarterfinal and played in the conference semifinals for the first time since they joined the conference for basketball in 2011-12.
