Hamilton College finished in second place out of 10 teams at the 2018 St. Lawrence University Men's Golf Invitational on Sunday.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament was played at St. Lawrence's 6,604-yard Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course in Canton, New York. The Continentals recorded a four-man team total of 305 the first round and went even lower in the final round with a 301 for a tournament total of 606. New York University captured the team title at 599 and Clarkson University ended up in third place at 613.

Hamilton's Milan Matneja '22, who was the individual medalist in the team's invitational at Yahnundasis Golf Club last weekend, made it 2-for-2 in his short career with the Continentals. Matneja opened with an even-par 72 and carded a 74 in the second round to finish at 2-over 146.

Jeremy Benjamin '19 tied for fifth place out of 53 golfers at 150 after he carded a pair of 75s. Benjamin's 36-hole score tied the career best he set last weekend. Andrew Watson '19 gave Hamilton three players in the top 10 as he tied for 10th at 154 (78-76).

All five Continentals posted rounds in the 70s on Sunday. Jack Habeeb '22 finished in 18th place at 157 after a final-round 77. Sam Vogel '22, who fired a 69 on Sept. 1 in his first collegiate round, tied for 21st at 159 that included a 76 in the second round.

The Hamilton men compete at Middlebury's Duke Nelson Invitational at Ralph Myhre Golf Course on Sept. 15 and 16.
