The Hamilton College Continentals defeated Ithaca College in all three of their head-to-head races on the Cayuga Inlet in Ithaca, N.Y., on Saturday.

The course was 2,000 meters in length and there was a tailwind that increased throughout the day. All races were run from a stake boat start.

Hamilton edged the Bombers by less than two seconds in an exciting men's varsity 8 race as the Continentals came from six seats down in the last 500 meters to capture the victory. Hamilton defeated Ithaca by nearly 10 seconds in a second varsity 8/novice 8 race and triumphed by seven seconds in the novice 4. The Continentals also took on Marist College in the varsity 8 and lost by 13-plus seconds.

Hamilton is back on the water on Saturday, May 5 at the New York State Collegiate Championships at Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs. Racing is scheduled to start at 8 a.m.
