With exactly eight minutes remaining in the contest, Noah Giovannelli '21 scored the first goal of his Continental career to elevate Hamilton College to a 1-0 NESCAC victory against Trinity College at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity cleared the ball past the midline following a Hamilton corner kick, but Jack Sheehan '21 immediately returned the ball into the Bantams' zone. Roth Wetzel '22 outran the defender for a near breakaway when he was fouled inside the penalty arc. Giovannelli lined up the free kick from 19 yards out and fired a bullet that curved around a wall of seven Bantams and two Continentals to find the nylon inside the right post.

Linds Cadwell '20 (two saves) notched his third shutout of the season. Andrew Clark made six saves for Trinity.

Hamilton (3-1 overall) holds a 2-0 conference record. Trinity moves to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the NESCAC.

The Continentals are back in action on Sunday when SUNY Oneonta visits Hamilton for a non-conference game at 2 p.m. Sunday's game will benefit the Go4theGoal Foundation in the organization's fight against pediatric cancer. Last year, the men's soccer team raised over $15,000 -- the largest amount ever raised by a single group for Go4theGoal.
