Three wins for men's track athletes at Brockport indoor meet

A handful of Hamilton College men's track & field athletes competed in the 2017 SUNY Brockport Early Season Indoor Invite at the Special Events Recreation Center on Saturday.

Eli Saucier '18 was a double winner in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash for the Continentals. Saucier's times of 7.05 seconds in the 60 meters and 22.61 seconds in the 200 meters qualified him for the 2018 Atlantic Region Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at Ithaca College in early March.

Henry Whipple '18 captured first place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:25.61. In field events, Patrick Malin '18 was 14th of 31 athletes in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 12.51 meters, and he finished 15th of 33 competitors in the shot put with a toss of 11.43 meters. The men were competing for the first time this 2017-18 track & field season.

Hamilton is off during finals and the holidays and will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational.
