Men's cross country places 7th at RPI's Saratoga Invitational

Hamilton College finished in seventh place out of 14 teams at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's 2018 Saratoga Cross Country Invitational at Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Saturday morning.

The 1-2 punch of Bryce Murdick '20 and Lucas Wright '21 led the Continentals. Murdick took 12th place out of 241 runners with a time of 25:53.5 on the 8-kilometer course. Wright was close behind in 16th place and a time of 26:10.9.

Frank Zuroski '20 (60th, 27:07), Colin Horgan '19 (65th, 27:10.8) and Peter Ross '20 (67th, 27:14.9) finished within 7.9 seconds of each other. Ross' time is his best at Hamilton. Jake Colangelo '20 ended up in 80th place with a time of 27:25.5.

The Continentals racked up 165 team points. The third-ranked hosts captured the team title with just 26 points and No. 6 Williams was a distant second with 65. No. 26 St. Lawrence University took third place with 107 points.

Hamilton hosts its own annual invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6 as racing gets underway at 11 a.m.
