Warner '19 paces women's golf at Williams Spring Invitational

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in sixth place out of eight teams at the 2018 Williams College Women's Golf Spring Invitational held at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on April 28 and 29.

Libbie Warner '19 tied for 13th place out of 50 golfers with a 36-hole score of 161. Warner, who entered the weekend with an 18-hole stroke average of 83.90, carded rounds of 80 and 81.

Winda Wanikpun '20 placed 31st at 172 after she posted an 88 on Saturday afternoon and fired an 84 on Sunday. All 16 of Wanikpun's rounds in 2017-18 were in the 70s and 80s. Sophia Archos '21 tied for 35th place at 181 after she recorded an 89 in the final round.

Hamilton's four-woman team score was 357 on Saturday. The Continentals shaved six strokes off that total for a 351 on Sunday and ended up with a tournament total of 708. Williams -- ranked second in the East Region by the NCAA -- captured the team title at 602. No. 4 Carnegie Mellon University was runner-up at 635 and Middlebury College took third place at 650.
