Cat Berry '19 of the Hamilton College women's track & field team wrapped up her season in Thursday's preliminaries of the 200-meter dash at the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Berry placed 14th in the 22-runner field, finishing with a time of 25.28 seconds. She ran in the first of three heats, placing seventh.

The Continentals' first NCAA qualifier since 2014, Berry was racing just a couple hours away from her hometown of Mansfield, Ohio. Nationals are being held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. She earned a spot at the NCAA Championships in her first year competing in track & field (she attended Colgate University last year -- but did not participate in the sport -- before transferring to Hamilton for her sophomore year).

Berry had been seeded 15th going into the race. Her national-qualifying mark of 24.66 seconds is a school record.
