Berry '19 leads women's track & field on first day at regionals

Hamilton College's Cat Berry '19 qualified for the women's 100-meter dash final on the first day of the 2018 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships at SUNY Brockport's Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium on Wednesday.

Berry finished eighth in the preliminary heats of the 100 meters with a season-best time of 12.30 seconds. She holds the program record in the event with her time of 12.20 seconds. Marie Steiner '20 landed in 13th place with a personal-record time of 12.48 seconds.

Emily Hull '18 ended up ninth in the women's hammer throw with a distance of 46.12 meters (151 feet, 4 inches). Hull owns the program mark in the event at 46.91 meters, which she set last month.

Hanna Jerome '18 kicks off the Continentals' day at the championships with the 1,500-meter run at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17. Berry races in the 100-meter final at 3:20 and Mary Lundin '19 competes in the 800-meter run at 3:35. Berry and Steiner return to the track for the 200-meter dash at 4:45.
