Men's Cross Country

WILLIAMS' PURPLE VALLEY CLASSIC
Saturday, Sept. 22 @ 12:10 p.m.
Mount Greylock Regional High School; Williamstown, Mass.

Last Year: Hamilton finished in 14th place out of 26 teams.

Who to Watch: Lucas Wright '21 finished 77th out of the 324 athletes last season with an 8-kilometer time of 27:52.7, making him the top returner this year.

 

Women's Cross Country

Saturday, Sept. 22 @ 1 p.m.
Mount Greylock Regional High School; Williamstown, Mass.

Last Year: Hamilton finished in 14th place out of 26 teams.

Who to Watch: Grace Heller '19 finished 44th out of the 286 athletes last season with a 6-kilometer time of 24:01.2, making her the top returner this year. Hamilton is ranked 28th in Division III and fifth in the Atlantic Region this week.

Records: No. 14 Hamilton (4-1, 2-1 NESCAC) looks to rebound after losing its first contest of the season to No. 1 Middlebury on Sunday. Conn. College's (2-3. 0-1) lone NESCAC loss was also to Middlebury back on Sept. 8.

Last Meeting: Then-No. 8 Hamilton outshot the Camels 17-2 and had a 13-1 advantage in penalty corners, but Conn. College managed a 1-0 upset in New London, Conn. on Sept. 23, 2017. 

Series: 4-3 (Hamilton)

Who to Watch: Julia Booth '19 currently leads the NESCAC in saves (26) and minutes (334:46). The Continetals' senior goaltender holds a .743 save percentage and 1.88 goals against average through five games.

Records: Hamilton dropped its season opener on Sept. 15 to Tufts, 29-2, and Amherst defeated Bates 19-7 on the road.

Last Meeting: Amherst won 36-6 at Hamilton's Steuben Field on Sept. 23, 2017.

Series: 27-1 (Amherst)

Who to Watch: Will Budington '21 had six receptions for a career-high 117 yards including a 54-yard catch-and-run on third down and 21 from the Continentals' 1-yard line against Tufts on Saturday, and Alex Ganter '19 finished with seven tackles, including a sack in the end zone for a safety, and he broke up a pass. 

 

Men's Golf

WILLIAMS FALL INVITATIONAL
Saturday, Sept. 22 @ 1 p.m. @ & Sunday @ 9 a.m.
Taconic Golf Club; Williamstown, Mass.

Last Year: Hamilton finished in 10th place out of 19  teams.

Who to Watch: Jack Habeeb '22 has been a consistent force this season, posting scores of 154 and 157 in the first two tournaments before breaking open in Vermont last weekend. Habeeb carded an impressive 72 in the second round of Middlebury's Duke Nelson Invitational on Sunday and finished the tournament in 14th place (148) out of 111 golfers.

 

Women's Golf

MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
Saturday, Sept. 22 @ 10 a.m. & Sunday @ 9 a.m.
The Orchards; South Hadley, Mass.

Last Year: Hamilton finished eighth out of 18 teams.

Who to Watch: Emily Moy '22 finished second out of 56 golfers with a season-low 36-hole total of 154 and led Hamilton to the team title last weekend at the William Smith Golf Invitational. 

 

Men's Soccer

Records: Hamilton (4-1, 2-0 NESCAC) is coming off a two-win weekend, posting 1-0 scores against NESCAC-opponent Trinity on Saturday and SUNY Oneonta on Sunday. No. 21/RV Conn College (5-0, 2-0) defeated Trinity 3-0 on Wednesday to remain unbeaten.

Last Meeting: Conn. College won 1-0 last year in an even matchup in New London.

Series: 4-2-2 (Conn. College)

Who to Watch: Bobby Chapman '19 scored his second goal of season against Oneonta on Sunday. Chapman and Aidan Wood '20 (one goal, two assists) lead the team with four points each. 

 

MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE*

Records: Middlebury (2-1-1, 1-1 NESCAC) hosts Bowdoin College on Saturday before arriving at Hamilton on Sunday. Middlebury snuck past No. 10 Amherst 1-0 on Sept. 15. after losing 1-0 to Conn. College on Sept. 8.

Last Meeting: Middlebury won 1-0 in Vermont on Sept. 17, 2017.

Series: 9-1-1 (Middlebury)

Who to Watch: Goalkeeper, Linds Cadwell '20 has posted two shutouts in NESCAC play so far this season.

Records: Hamilton (2-1-1, 2-1 NESCAC) is coming off 1-0 victory over Trinity at home on Saturday. Conn. College (4-1, 0-1) has outscored its opponents 13-4 this season, scoring five goals against both Roger Williams and Johnson & Wales. The Camels lone NESCAC game was a 2-0 loss against Middlebury on Sept. 8.

Last Meeting: Then-No. 20 Conn. College won 1-0 last year in New London.

Series: 3-2-2 (Conn. College)

Who to Watch: Cat Gambino '21 was named NESCAC Player of the Week on Monday as she continues to excel in her sophomore season. Gambino has recorded at least one point in all four contests this year, accumulating three goals and one assist for a team-high seven points.

Records: No. 6/16 Middlebury (5-0, 2-0 NESCAC) has allowed just two goals this season while scoring 16 times, including a 2-0 win against Conn. College and a 3-1 win over Amherst in conference action.

Last Meeting: Hamilton advanced to the NESCAC Championship semifinals last year by posting a 1-0 win over the Panthers in the quarterfinals. 

Series: 12-5-1 (Middlebury)

Who to Watch: Maddie Dale '20 scored Hamilton's lone goal just 2:28 after the opening kickoff of the NESCAC quarterfinals last season. Gambino also netted her first collegiate goal in a 1-1 draw against the Panthers during the 2017 regular season.

  

Women's Tennis

ITA NORTHEAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sept. 22 - 24
William Smith College; Geneva, N.Y.

Last Year:  Audrey Chor '21 won a singles match and teamed up with Ajla Karabegovic '21 to post a victory in doubles play.

Who to Watch: Sophia Aulicino '21 is the eighth seed in singles competition. Karabegovic, Becca Ingber '22 and Chor are also part of the 64-person field. Aulicino and Chor are ranked fifth as a duo in a field of 32 doubles pairings. 

 

Volleyball

WILLIAMS COLLEGE*
Tuesday, Sept. 18 @ 7 p.m.

Records: Hamilton (2-4, 0-2 NESCAC) opened its conference schedule with a hard fought five-set match at Conn. College on Sept. 14. Williams (5-2, 1-1) split its opening NESCAC weekend with a loss to Wesleyan and win against Conn. College.

Last Meeting: Hamilton came from behind for a five-set win against the Ephs at home last year for its first triumph over Williams since 1994.

Series: 32-4 (Williams)

Who to Watch: Giuliana Rankin '20 threw down 11 kills and racked up a career-high seven blocks against the Ephs last season.
