Records: Hamilton -- ranked No. 4 in the most recent D3hoops.com top-25 poll -- improved to 7-0 after defeating Utica College 73-58 and Johnson & Wales 73-58 last week. SUNY Polytechnic (1-4 overall) has lost five straight, including back-to-back overtime setbacks to Morrisville State on Dec. 1 and SUNY Cobleskill on Dec. 4.

Last Meeting: Hamilton won 112-96 in Marcy last season.

Series: 32-2 (Hamilton)

Who to Watch: Kena Gilmour '20 and Michael Grassey '19 are inches away from joining the 1,000-point club. Grassey is in the lead with 982 career points and Gilmour is close behind with 979. Grassey is shooting a team-high 58.2 percent (24-for-41) from three-point range while Gilmour leads the team with 19.9 points per game.

Records: Elmira (2-5 overall) snapped a four-game loosing streak with an 88-81 win against Keuka College on Nov. 28. The Golden Eagles travel to St. Lawrence University on Friday night before arriving in Clinton on Saturday.

Last Meeting: The teams are meeting for the first time since the 2013-14 season when Hamilton edged out an 85-83 overtime victory.

Series: 14-3 (Hamilton)


Women's Basketball

UNION COLLEGE

Records: Hamilton improved to 7-0 this season after winning the Norwich University Ed Hockenbury Classic last weekend. The Continentals first defeated Framingham State 70-60 on Friday night and then the hosts 62-43 in the championship game on Saturday. Union (3-2 overall) won three straight before falling 66-59 at No. 15 Rochester Institute of Technology on Dec. 1. 

Last Meeting: Hamilton won 64-47 at home last season.

Series: 31-26 (Hamilton) -- This will be the 40th straight year that the Continentals and Dutchwomen have met on the hardwood.

Who to Watch:  Carly O'Hern '20 was named the Ed Hockenbury Classic Most Outstanding Player after she drained a career-best five jumpers from beyond the arc and finished with 21 points and eight rebounds on Saturday. The junior guard also tallied 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the semifinal.

 

WILLIAM SMITH COLLEGE

Records: William Smith (2-3 overall) lost its Liberty League conference opener 67-56 to Union on Nov. 30 and followed with another 80-75 setback to Vassar College the next day.

Last Meeting: William Smith won 64-51 in Geneva last season.

Records: Hamilton (3-2-1 overall) evened its NESCAC record to 1-1-1 after tying No. 5/10 Trinity 2-2 on Nov. 30 and falling 5-2 at Weslyan University on Dec. 1. Middlebury (4-2, 3-2 NESCAC) picked up two conference wins last weekend, downing Conn. College 4-2 and Tufts University 6-2.

Last Meeting: Hamilton won both matchups last season by scores of 4-1 and 1-0.

Series: 88-36-5 (Middlebury) but Hamilton has won the last four games with two shutouts.

Who to Watch: Sterling Bray '20 scored both goals at Wesleyan and has five points this season. Jason Brochu '19Rory Gagnon '19 and Nick Ursitti '20 also have five points.

 

WILLIAMS COLLEGE*

Williamstown, Mass.

Records: Williams (3-2-1, 2-1-1) has a 0-2-1 record after winning its first three games. The last three games include a 3-1 loss to No. 2 SUNY Geneseo, 6-2 loss against Tufts and 2-2 tie against Conn. College.

Last Meeting: Hamilton and Williams battled to a scoreless tie on Feb. 18, 2018. The Continentals won the first matchup last season 3-2 on Dec. 9, 2017.

Series: 71-59-16 (Williams) but Hamilton is 5-0-3 against Williams the last four seasons.


Women's Hockey

Records: Hamilton (4-2 overall) defeated Colby College 4-2 and 2-0 last weekend. Potsdam (3-4-2) has been winless since defeating Cortland 2-1 on Nov. 9, a streak that includes two shutout losses against No. 2 Plattsburgh.

Last Meeting: The teams split the series last season with both teams winning at home. Potsdam first won 2-1 on Jan. 9, 2018 and Hamilton followed with a 3-0 shutout on Jan. 30, 2018.

Series: 11-1 (Hamilton)

Who to Watch: Nancy Loh '22 has recorded at least one point in every game this season and leads the team with eight points and five assists. 

 

SUNY OSWEGO

Records: Oswego (5-2-1) was unbeaten this season until No. 2 Plattsburgh visited last weekend and posted 4-0 and 6-1 back-to-back victories.
