Hamilton College's Roth Wetzel '22 and Bobby Chapman '19 scored goals and the Continentals posted a 2-0 non-conference win against SUNY Oswego at Oswego's Laker Turf Stadium on Tuesday.

Hamilton was playing its first game of the season while the Lakers evened their record at 1-1-0. The Continentals improved to 14-2-3 against Oswego under head coach Perry Nizzi.

Noah Giovannelli '21 and Aidan Wood '20 were credited with assists, and Linds Cadwell '20 needed to make just two saves -- both in the first half -- to post his fifth career shutout.

Wetzel scored his first collegiate goal and gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. Lakers goalkeeper Brian Terra (4 saves) fell as Giovannelli passed to Wetzel, who beat his defender and scored into the lower left side of the net. Giovannelli picked up his first career point.

Chapman scored his fourth career goal in the 52nd minute. Wood pulled the defenders toward him and found Chapman waiting at the bottom of the box where he deposited his shot into the lower right side of the goal.

Cadwell made his stops in the 11th and 28th minutes. The Continentals had three corner kicks and took four shots in the opening four minutes of the second half. Terra turned away a penalty kick attempt in the 76th minute as Hamilton threatened to take a three-goal lead.

The Continentals travel to Lewiston, Maine, to take on Bates for the first NESCAC game this season on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.
