Connecticut College scored three goals in the first half and the Camels posted a 3-0 NESCAC win over the Hamilton College Continentals at Conn. College's Tempel Green on Saturday afternoon.
The Continentals -- ranked 11th in the New England Region by the NCAA -- conclude the regular season with an overall record of 6-7-2 and a 3-5-2 record in NESCAC play. Conn. College (9-3-2, 5-2-2 NESCAC) is ranked fourth in the region, 15th in the United Soccer Coaches national poll and 19th by D3soccer.com.
MT Tshuma netted the eventual game-winner at 14:11. Steve Yeonas received a pass from midfield at the top-left corner of the box and fired a quick cross to the back post where Tshuma redirected the ball into the back of the net.
The Camels doubled their lead after Thomas Benson '22 (4 saves) made a stellar save on a penalty kick. Liam Donelan lined the ball up from the penalty hash and fired a low shot to the corner. Benson dove to his right for the save, but a charging Matt Butera put away the rebound at 17:23. Augie Djerdjaj scored his team-high seventh goal of the season in the 35th minute to conclude the scoring.
Hamilton will compete in the quarterfinals of the 2019 NESCAC Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Continentals' seeding in the tournament and their opponent will be determined on Wednesday night after Amherst College and Trinity College play the final conference matchup of the season.
