Men's swimming wraps up regular season with home dual meet against RPI

Hamilton College fell to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the Continentals' final dual meet of the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Hamilton's Bristol Pool.

RPI finished with 210.5 team points to the Continentals' 82.5 points. Hamilton honored Evan Dodes '20 and Evan Tatro '20 as part of its senior recognition ceremony before the meet. The Continentals won't be back in the pool until Thursday, Feb. 20 for the start of the four-day 2020 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship at Williams College.

Hamilton's meet highlight was the 200-yard freestyle where the Continentals swept the top three spots. Tatro was the winner with a time of 1:46.84, Nick Wilkins '22 was runner-up in 1:47.71 and Will Brindisi '22 landed in third place with a time of 1:49.72.

Wilkins captured first place in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.33) and the 200 individual medley (2:00.23). Tatro was runner-up in the 100 free with a time of 48.75 seconds and ended up in third place in the 100 butterfly in 53.81 seconds. Brindisi and Oliver Tennant '23 tied for third place in the 200 backstroke at 2:07.81.

Nate Hays '23 finished in third place in the 100 breast (1:00.94) and the 200 breast (2:15.06) and tied for third in the 200 IM (2:02.84). Sandro Mariani '21 grabbed second place in the 50 free with a time of 23.09 seconds.
